Inspirata din evenimente reale petrecute în anul 1944, in timpul celui de-al doilea Razboi Mondial, drama de actiune "Red Tails" relateaza povestea pilotilor afro-americani ce au facut parte din programul de antrenament Tuskegee si au fost fortati sa lupte zi de zi cu prejudecatile rasiale si discriminarea atat in localitatile lor de bastina, cat si in sanul armatei, fiind retinuti la baza militara si impiedicati sa isi demonstreze calitatile de aviatori de top, desi camarazii lor albi erau inclusi in escadrilele combatante dupa numai trei luni de antrenament.
